Veronica barrelieri Schott ex Roem. et Schult.

Flora Europaea where treated as Veronica spicata L. subsp. barrelieri (Schott ex Roem. & Schult.) Murb.

A rare species in our flora, present only in Banat Mountains and totaly related with the calcareous massifs. Though considered by various authors as only a subspecies of Veronica spicata L. it grows in the Balkans and Banat Mountains in the same locations with this latter one, without any intergrading. They consequently behave in our opinion as distinct species.

Below Biliana calcareous massif, above the village of Cornereva, Cerna Mountains, Caras-Severin county, 9th of July 2010.
